National Counties Building Society
National Counties are pleased to accept applications from intermediaries provided they are authorised by the FSA to give advice on Regulated Mortgage Contracts or they are an Appointed Representative of a Principal firm with this permission.
National Counties' conservative approach to lending means that each application is considered by a trained Underwriter, rather than being credit scored, with individual circumstances being taken into account.
National Counties offer mortgages for new and existing customers and also have a BTL range available. They also offer Guarantor Mortgages as well as Commercial Loans.
Lending Criteria
Max loan is 75%, though this may be higher for some mortgage products.
Minimum age is 18 with maximum age of 65.
Income multiples - click here for further details.
Properties - National Counties only lend in England and Wales.
Full details on Lending Criteria can be found here.
Proc Fees
The Mortgage Introductory Fee is paid following completion and is calculated depending on both the size of the initial advance and the duration of the initial rate of the mortgage product.
The scale of payment is as follows.
Discounted/Fixed/Capped Rate Special Terms Product

For 2 Years pays 0.20% of Initial Advance (min.£100, max £500)
For 3 Years pays 0.25% of Initial Advance (min.£100, max £625)

Eligibility for the fee may be checked by telephoning the Customer Centre on 01372 744155 prior to submission of the application and will be confirmed upon commencement of processing.
The proc fee is processed 7 working days after completion. Cheques will be made payable to the intermediary firm and sent to the address registered with the Society. Where an intermediary is a member of a Network or Mortgage Club, the payment will be made to these organisations instead unless there are specific arrangements in place not to do so. Any change of payment details or the registered address must be notified to the Society in writing. In cases where the introducer is an individual, the Society will declare details of the payments made when making its statutory return to the HM Revenue & Customs at the end of each tax year.
